Biography

Edward A. Pollard was the editor of the Richmond Examiner and a prominent Confederate journalist, later author of 'The Lost Cause.' Captured in 1864 while attempting to run the blockade to Europe, he was held as a prisoner at Fort Warren and Fortress Monroe before being exchanged.
