Biography
Ed Guerard was a Committee for Non-Violent Action pacifist and former Marine who repeatedly took to the water against the Polaris submarines. He was arrested after paddling toward the Abraham Lincoln at Portsmouth, New Hampshire on March 11, 1961, and swam toward the Thomas Edison at New London on June 15, 1961, after which he, Edward Sanders and Eugene Keyes were released within a few hours. He was arrested and briefly detained; no documented prison term followed.
