Biography

Donald Stuart Harris was a SNCC worker and one of the "Americus Four", arrested with Ralph Allen and John Perdew after the August 8, 1963 demonstration in Americus, Georgia and charged under the state's capital "seditious conspiracy" statute, which allowed bail to be denied. He was held without bail until November 1, 1963, when a three-judge federal panel invalidated the charge. His subsequent proceedings are not established in the catalog record.
