Biography

Cornelius Lehane, from Cork County, Ireland. A Socialist and Irish Nationalist, Lehane worked both as a journalist and as a trade union organizer. He was arrested in New York City by federal authorities for anti-war activity and transported to the Hartford County Jail in Connecticut. There he died of influenza after being held in jail for approximately one hundred days.
