Biography
Chris Lamprecht was a software engineer who created Indeed.com Lamprecht was also a noted figure in the hacker community and came to the attention of authorities when he was profiled in the hacker magazine Phrack. In the article Lamprecht espoused a philosophy of noncooperation with authorities to counter the (at the time) common tactic of hackers reporting other hackers to police as a way to eliminate rivals. Lamprecht was arrested for selling stolen telephone circuit boards. After his arrest police secretly recorded phone calls where Lamprecht spoke to a friend who suggested retaliating against the officers who arrested him. Lamprecht shot down the idea but authorities deceptively edited the conversation while showing it to a Judge to appear as if Lamprecht was suggesting the idea. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
