Biography
Charles Rowoldt was a Minneapolis worker, once secretary of the Hennepin County Workers Alliance, whom the government tried for two decades to deport to Germany because of his Depression-era political affiliations. In 1955 a fresh round of proceedings forced his case to the Circuit Court of Appeals; his fight reached the Supreme Court as Rowoldt v. Perfetto (1957).
