Biography

Amost L. Hitchcock, a Socialist from Sandusky, Ohio, began serving his ten-year prison sentence on June 28, 1918. Hitchcock was charged with publicly stating that "he did not believe in the Liberty loan" and that "every damn dollar goes into the pockets of the profiteers."
