The IWW union attempted a national general strike against the executions of anarchist workers Sacco and Vanzetti. It was particularly strong in Colorado coalmines, where the stoppage lasted for two days.

Philadelphia police siege of MOVE results in MOVE 9 arrests
Philadelphia police laid siege to the MOVE house at 309 N. 33rd Street, ending in a shootout that killed officer James Ramp. Nine MOVE members — Chuck, Debbie, Delbert, Eddie, Janet, Janine, Merle, Mike, and Phil Africa — were convicted of third-degree murder and sentenced to 30-100 years. Most served four decades; Merle and Phil died in custody.
