Greenwich Village townhouse explosion

A bomb being assembled by Weather Underground members detonated prematurely in a Manhattan townhouse, killing Diana Oughton, Ted Gold, and Terry Robbins. The blast sent the organization fully underground and became the FBI's standing justification for a decade of extraordinary surveillance and burglaries directed at the entire left.
