Biography
William E. Martin, a carpenter from Tennessee, was convicted of making "scurrilous and inflammatory statements " about the president of the United States and the Red Cross and was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. He served in Atlanta Penitentiary from October 4, 1918, to September 2, 1920. Martin had a wife and one child.
