Biography
Walter M. Trumbull, a U.S. Army soldier at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, was court-martialed with Paul Crouch in 1925 for communist organizing in the ranks. Sentenced to twenty-six years, reduced on review to one, he served his year at the Alcatraz military barracks and, on his release in February 1926, toured the country for the International Labor Defense as 'the rebel soldier.'
