Biography
Stew Albert was an early member of the Yippies (Youth International Party) and a key figure in the 1960s New Left and anti-Vietnam War movement. He was incarcerated, under the supervision of the Alameda County sheriff, during the Vietnam Day Committee's anti-draft protests in downtown Oakland, California; he was later arrested at the 1968 Democratic National Convention and named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Chicago Seven case.
