Biography
Stepan Kaminsky was born 1896 in Podolia, Russia (present-day Ukraine). Worked as a machinist. Immigrated to the United States in 1914.
In 1919, he joined the Elizabeth, New Jersey branch of the Union of Russian Workers, where he taught arithmetic classes and participated actively in organizational life. He also joined the Industrial Workers of the World in October 1919. Arrested during the first Palmer Raids in November 1919 and deported on the Buford on December 21, 1919.
