Samuel Lippman

Samuel Lippman, an anarchist from New York, New York, was sentenced along with Jacob Abrams and Mollie Steimer to twenty years in prison for circulating a leaflet critical of U.S. intervention in Russia during World War I. He served in Atlanta Penitentiary from 1919 to 1921. After two and a half years in prison, Lippman's sentence was commuted on October 23, 1921, on the condition that he would be deported to Russia and never return to the United States.
