Biography
Roger Ver was a Libertarian political activist who ran for the California Statehouse on a platform of abolishing federal law enforcement agencies such as the ATF and DEA. The ATF began monitoring Ver and raided his home to arrest him for selling explosive devices without a license after they discovered that Ver had sold a firecracker style pest repellent used by ranches to collapse gopher holes on Ebay. The item sold by Ver was listed by hundreds of other sellers on Ebay and commonly sold in major retail stores none of whom had licenses to sell explosives. Despite this Ver was the only one ever charged with selling the item. Ver was convicted of selling explosives without a license and sentenced to a year in federal prison.
