Biography
R.G. Givin was a conscientious objector from Tennessee imprisoned during World War I. Court-martialed for refusing military service, he was held at Fort Leavenworth. (Documented in the Swarthmore College Peace Collection's World War I Conscientious Objectors database.) Archival note: non-sectarian; imprisoned at Ft. Leavenworth on September 13, 1918 (or as late as Sept. 19th)
