Biography
Ray Trafton was a carpenter and Communist candidate for county commissioner, sentenced to nine to twenty-one months and a $100 fine in the Anacortes food-raid case, held in the Washington State Reformatory at Monroe. In 1932 starving mill and cannery workers at Anacortes, in Skagit County, Washington raided a chain grocery for food; the leaders were framed on grand-larceny and inciting-to-riot charges and sentenced in October 1932 at Mount Vernon, several of them Communist election candidates.
