Prisciliano G. Silva
Biography
Prisciliano G. Silva was a member of the Partido Liberal Mexicano prosecuted in about 1908 for activity connected with the party and for violating United States neutrality laws. His imprisonment at Leavenworth is documented by federal prisoner number 6210. Documented spellings include Priscilliano G. Silva, Priciliano Silva and Sylva.
A secondary photograph caption gives a two-year sentence and describes that conviction as his SECOND, implying an earlier proceeding whose arrest, charge, sentence and custody are all unresolved. The exact admission and release dates for the 1908 case are likewise unresolved.
Mother Jones later sought clemency for him while he was reportedly gravely ill in prison. Partido Liberal Mexicano correspondence establishes that he was active with revolutionary forces in Mexico in 1911, which proves he survived the United States proceeding but does not fix his release date.
