Biography
Libertarian activist who at a Jan. 5, 1981 Little Rock post-office demonstration publicly told reporters he had not and would not register. Indicted Sept. 21, 1982 in the Eastern District of Arkansas. Went underground for ~2 years, was arrested at his North Little Rock home Dec. 6, 1984, and was tried in July 1985. Congressman Ron Paul testified for the defense. Convicted; served 5½ months in federal prison — one of only ~9 American draft resisters imprisoned since Vietnam. Later became a national term-limits and ballot-initiative organizer.
