Biography
Oreal Grossman was an International Labor Defense attorney in Providence, Rhode Island, arrested during the September 1934 general textile strike when he went to defend jailed strikers on the day the Communist Party was outlawed in the state. He was held incommunicado for 36 hours, then released on bail on a flimsy lottery charge.
