Biography
Leading American eco-anarchist theorist and founder of the Institute for Social Ecology at Goddard College in Vermont (1974). In 1977-78 he and the ISE-affiliated Spruce Mountain Affinity Group joined the Clamshell Alliance's Seabrook campaign. His "Note on Affinity Groups" shaped Clamshell organizing, and he led the internal critique against the Coordinating Committee's centralism after 1977 that ultimately split the Alliance.
