Biography
Mikhail Yakovlev was born about 1899 in Vologda, Russia. Immigrated to the United States in 1916.
Born c. 1899, Vologda, Russia. Migrated to US in 1916 (jumped ship from the SS Czar). Sailor. Joined the Russian Branch of the IWW in New York City, of which he became secretary, as well as the Socialist Party and then the Second Russian Branch of the Communist Party. Arrested January 8, 1920. Declared: “I am a revolutionist…I believe in overthrowing all capitalistic forms of government…I have nothing against deportation to Russia. I love my motherland. I left my relatives there and I am quite willing to go there.” Deported January 22, 1921 on the SS Stockholm.
