Biography
Matthew White is an activist and participant in the George Floyd uprising legal repression cases in the United States. Following widespread protests in Minneapolis and across the country in 2020 after the police murder of George Floyd, many demonstrators were arrested and charged with serious offenses such as arson and property destruction. White was one of the individuals federally prosecuted in connection with the rebellion-related incidents; organizers and support networks describe him as a political prisoner held in custody for his actions during those demonstrations. According to prisoner support groups, as of mid-2025 he was released to a halfway house after serving part of his sentence and supporters were raising funds to assist his transition post-release.
