Biography

Martin Popper was a New York attorney and former secretary of the National Lawyers Guild, found guilty in 1961 on four counts of contempt of Congress and sentenced to six months in prison and a $500 fine for refusing, in 1959, to answer House Un-American Activities Committee questions on First Amendment grounds.
