Biography

Louis McCabe was one of the five defense lawyers for the eleven Communist leaders tried at the 1949 Foley Square Smith Act trial, a landmark McCarthy-era prosecution. He was cited for contempt of court for his courtroom defense and given a 30-day sentence.
