Biography
Julian Heicklen was a Penn State professor who began political activism during the Civil Rights Movement where he worked with the Congress of Racial Equality to integrate housing in California. During his retirement he focused his activism on informing the public around the concept of Jury Nullification. In 2010 the F.B.I. performed a sting operation where an undercover agent posing as a jury member, approached Dr. Heicklen and asked about jury nullification. Dr. Heicklen explained what it was and was immediately arrested and charged with jury tampering. Though the charges were thrown out Dr. Heicklen would be arrested numerous times for this offence across the country and spend a notable amount of time in jail.
