Biography

John T. Gojack was a vice-president of the United Electrical Workers and head of its District 9, convicted of contempt of Congress in May 1956 for refusing, on First Amendment grounds, to answer HUAC's questions about his associations. His conviction was later reversed by the Supreme Court (Gojack v. United States).
