Biography

Janette Goering is the eighteenth person arrested in the Prairieland prosecutions that grew out of the July 4, 2025 noise demonstration at the Prairieland ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas. Not alleged to have been present that night, she is charged with aiding in the commission of terrorism for giving someone a Faraday signal-blocking bag weeks before the action. Her bond was set at 5,000,000 dollars, reduced to 275,000 dollars after an appellate ruling; she was released in mid-June 2026 after roughly eight months (about 233 to 241 days) in custody. Her state case remains pending.
