Biography
James Cronin was sent by the IWW to the Scottsbluff area of Nebraska in October 1919 to investigate the arrests of about fifteen members of Agricultural Workers Industrial Union No. 400 under Nebraska's criminal-syndicalism campaign. Shortly after arriving, Cronin was himself arrested on a criminal-syndicalism charge. The surviving chronology gives no precise arrest date, jail, bail, trial result or release date, and no biographical evidence has been found distinctive enough to connect him to any later James Cronin in census, military or death records.
