Biography
Harry Winitsky, a leader of the Communist Party from New York City, was sentenced to a five- to ten-year prison term for violating the New York anti-anarchy law and served in Clinton Prison and Sing Sing. Winitsky was reportedly betrayed at his trial by Jay Lovestone, another party leader, who accepted the state's offer to drop its prosecution of him on anti-anarchy charges if he testified against Winitsky.
