Biography
Gregory Curry is freedom fighter and a current inmate who faced brutal retaliation from the Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation and Correction following the 1993 Lucasville Uprising in Ohio's Lucasville Prison. Despite not being involved in the uprising — and in fact being in an entirely different wing of the prison at the time — he was scapegoated for the riots and indicted for two aggravated murders. Curry, knowing his innocence, refused to accept a plea and became the first rioter to be tried on murder charges. Other inmates were given plea deals in exchange for information, including one inmate who already plead guilty to the murder. Curry continues to stand up for the dignity of fellow comrades on the inside though the courts have unfairly extended his sentence. Curry is now an old man whose next parole eligibility date won't be until 2061; he has spent decades unfairly incarcerated and does not deserve to spend the rest of his life in prison.
