Biography
Geraldine Robinson was the co-defendant of Black militant and radical bookseller Martin Sostre, arrested with him in 1967 at his Afro-Asian Bookstore in Buffalo, New York, and convicted in the same narcotics frame-up. She drew an indeterminate sentence, and her five young children were divided among foster homes during her imprisonment. The State's key witness, Arto Williams, later admitted he had lied — that narcotics detectives had driven him to the bookstore to set Sostre up in exchange for dropping his own charges — undermining the case against both defendants.
