Biography

George Moore was sentenced to death at Winston-Salem, North Carolina for stealing a pair of shoes worth less than a dollar; the ILD forced the governor to commute the sentence to life — one of the Depression-era Southern and Northern frame-up and legal-lynching cases the ILD publicized in 1932.
