Biography

George Hopkins was sentenced to eighteen months and a $500 fine in the Oklahoma City federal sedition case of 1934–35. After a May 1934 demonstration of relief workers at FERA headquarters in Oklahoma City, eighteen were prosecuted in the first federal sedition case since 1922, charged with "attempting to seize goods of the federal government"; several drew federal prison terms.
