George Daniels

George Daniels was a U.S Marine who along with a fellow Marine named William Harvey was overheard speaking privately to each other while off duty when they allegedly said the Vietnam was was a “white man’s war” and that no black man could, in good conscience, support the war while black people in this country were suffering great injustice. Neither men had disobeyed any order or refused to serve in Vietnam but for these statements they were charged with "making disloyal statements" and sentenced to a combined 16 years in prison.
