Biography
George Brown was a black revolutionary who on July 31, 1972 hijacked Delta Air Lines Flight 841 with a group of four others after it departed Detroit in order to get passage to Algeria so he and the group could join the International Section of the Black Panther Party. Brown eventually relocated to France where he was arrested and held for the hijacking with other members of the group. After serving a French prison sentence he remained in Paris and married a French woman who had participated in the support campaign for the group's release. He became a painter and remained an advocate and activist of American political prisoners for the remainder of his life.
