Biography

First Iowan indicted for nonregistration. Publicly burned his Selective Service paperwork in protest when registration was reinstated in 1980. Sentenced Dec. 3, 1982 by U.S. District Judge Harold Vietor in Des Moines to 2 years in federal prison. Petition for certiorari (Eklund v. United States) denied by the U.S. Supreme Court.
