Biography

Gabriella (Ella) Antolini, an eighteen-year-old anarchist and Italian immigrant residing in New England, was convicted of anti-war activities. Antolini was confined in the Missouri State Prison in Jefferson City, Missouri. In prison she befriended Emma Goldman, who described Antolini: She was a proletarian child, familiar with poverty and hardship, strong and socially conscious. Gentle and sympathetic, she was like a beam of sunshine, bringing cheer to her fellow prisoners and great joy to me. Antolini served approximately two years in prison.
