Biography
Frank Pommersheim, born 1943 in Queens, New York, graduated from Colgate University in 1965 and Columbia Law School in 1968 and worked as a VISTA lawyer in Alaska. In the Camden 28 case he was severed from the main trial and his charges were dismissed after the May 1973 acquittals — secondary biographies sometimes say he was "acquitted with the Camden 28", but the contemporary trial record shows he was not among the seventeen the jury acquitted. He became a leading scholar of federal Indian law at the University of South Dakota.
