Biography
Florence Blalock was one of the Burlington, North Carolina textile strikers framed in the 1934–35 "dynamite plot" case, sentenced to four to six years. After the September 1934 general textile strike, a dynamite charge at the E. M. Holt Plaid Mill in Burlington, North Carolina was used to frame union leaders of the Piedmont Textile Council; convicted in 1935 on the word of a paid informer, they drew sentences totalling twenty-seven years. The ILD carried the appeal.
