Biography

One of the Cuban Five — Cuban intelligence officers convicted in 2001 in Miami of conspiracy to act as unregistered foreign agents while monitoring anti-Castro paramilitary groups that had been carrying out attacks against Cuba. Sentenced to 19 years (reduced to 17 years 9 months on resentencing). Released February 27, 2014 and returned to Cuba.
