Biography
Wilson was a former Central Intelligence Agency officer who later became involved in private contracting and international arms trafficking, at times asserting that his activities overlapped with covert work tied to the United States government.
In the early 1980s, he was arrested, prosecuted, and convicted on federal charges connected to exporting weapons and explosives to Libya, receiving a lengthy prison sentence. Years later, a major conviction was set aside in post-conviction litigation and he was released after spending roughly two decades incarcerated.
