Biography
Dr. Sarah Hunt Lockrey (April 21, 1863 - November 8, 1929) was a Philadelphia surgeon and a member of the National Woman's Party who took part in the 1917-1919 campaign to picket the Wilson White House for woman suffrage.
She was arrested on August 6, 1918 and released on bail. She then paid the fine rather than serve the sentence, so that she could carry out scheduled surgery. She did not serve a jail term, and this record no longer claims one: an earlier version credited her with fifteen days in August 1918, which she did not serve.
