David Guy McKay, age 22, was one of two Austin Affinity Group members caught making Molotov cocktails before the 2008 Republican National Convention. Pleaded guilty to weapons charges; 48 months federal prison. David Guy McKay was only 22 when he was entrapped by an FBI informant at the Republican National Convention for allegedly possessing incendiary devices. His arrest coincided multiple other arrests leading up to protest actions at the 2008 Republican National Convention.
David Guy McKay, 22, and Bradley Neil Crowder, 23, were each charged Sept. 5 with one count of possession of firearms, namely Molotov cocktails, that were not registered to them in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
Arrested in September 2008 at age 22 at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul for allegedly possessing incendiary devices. Defenders argue he was entrapped by FBI informant Brandon Darby, an older and more experienced activist-provocateur. McKay is one of the Texas 2, alongside Bradley Crowder.
