Biography
Connie Matthews was a Danish-Jamaican activist who served as the Black Panther Party's International Coordinator from 1969, organizing support and fundraising across Europe. She married Panther 21 defendant Michael 'Cetewayo' Tabor, and in February 1971, when Tabor and co-defendant Richard Moore failed to appear for the Panther 21 trial, Matthews fled the United States with them. The three resurfaced in Algeria, joining the BPP's exiled International Section, and in 1972 she and Tabor relocated to Zambia, where they continued their activism. She later returned to Jamaica, where she died around 1993.
