Biography

Christopher Clarich was president of the Shrimp Peelers Union of UCAPAWA, convicted and sentenced to twenty years for the murder of a vigilante killed when an armed anti-union mob attacked a picket line during the union's strike at Aransas Pass, Texas — a case the labor press treated as a class-war frame-up growing out of employer-backed violence against Gulf-coast seafood workers.
