Candalaria Montoya was an eighteen-year-old Spanish-speaking sugar-beet worker sentenced to death near Brighton, in Adams County, Colorado in 1933 on a coerced confession for the murder of a farmer, George Arnold — a frame-up the ILD fought as a case of Mexican-American beet laborers railroaded to the electric chair.
