Biography

The first recruit and treasurer of the Black Panther Party, among those arrested at the May 2, 1967 armed protest at the California legislature in Sacramento; on April 6, 1968 he was shot and killed by Oakland police after surrendering. Memorialized as a fallen comrade in The Black Panther Vol. 18 no.12 (1978).
