Biography
Ben Thomas, a Philadelphia machinist and Workers (Communist) Party representative, was one of the leaders arrested in the December 1928 anti-war and "Free John Porter" demonstration in Washington, D.C., when police jailed some two dozen workers and several children. The leaders were sentenced to sixty days or $100; those who refused to pay their fines sat out their terms in jail.
