Biography
Barbara Carter, age 22, was one of three women who chained themselves to heavy machinery at an Enbridge pipeline worksite near Stockbridge, Michigan in July 2013 to oppose expansion of the pipeline that ruptured into the Kalamazoo River in 2010. Convicted of misdemeanor trespassing and felony obstruction; 13 months probation plus $750 fine. Necessity defense raised.
